A genre I am enjoying right now is alternate history. This may be due to a spate of engaging authors I have run across lately. If, however, I exercise a little Socratic self-examination my fondness for the genre most likely stems from my diminishing opportunities to do things differently.
Now don't get me wrong; I have a good life, a good job making more than I should, a wife certainly better than I deserve, and two kids that make my heart ache at the thought of their exposure to the world we live in...but...
There is always a but. I love the idea of doing it again. Not because I am dissatisfied with the life I have; rather, there are so many live out there to be had it is a tragedy we are limited to only one.

Interesting. And, also interesting that I think I am the first person to leave a comment on your blog. I don't think I've read any of the books you write about, but I still find what you write interesting and I think you're a good writer. And, geez, a year later! Took you long enough!
Okay, never mind, so I wasn't the first person. Sadly, it makes me feel special when people leave comments on my blog, so now you have two!
